Fosshotel Núpar is a comfortable and modern three star quality hotel in Iceland surrounded by lava fields, glaciers, and mountains. Located right off Route 1 (the Ring Road) in southern Iceland, it’s a perfect place to stay if you’re exploring nearby attractions like Skaftafell National Park, Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Plus, if you visit in winter, the hotel’s remote location makes it an ideal spot to see the Northern Lights — no city lights, just wide-open skies.
Fosshótel Núpar in remote Iceland
Fosshotel Núpar is all about warmth and stunning views. Each heated room is designed to bring the outside in, with large windows framing the glaciers, mountains, and lava fields just beyond. Waking up in the golden light of morning, or watching the pink glow of dusk creep over the horizon, is all part of the adventure. Rooms include a private shower and bathroom, as well as a small workspace.
The hotel also has an on-site restaurant with Icelandic food made from fresh, local ingredients. Guests can enjoy nature views while dining.
The remote location of the hotel far from the city lights makes it a stargazer and Northern Lights observer's dream destination. On a clear cold night in winter visitors can step outside and watch the aurora borealis in the night sky. And even if the lights do not materialize or guests visit in summer the quiet and vastness of the countryside is worth the trip.
