Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is just a short drive, about 30 minutes, from the hotel and is famous for its floating icebergs, boat tours, and seals that can be seen swimming around. On the other side of the road you'll find Diamond Beach, a black-sand beach that is scattered with icebergs from the glacier lagoon. 

In the other direction from Fosshótel Glacier Lagoon, guests find Skaftafell National Park, about 30 minutes away. At the park guests find a variety of hiking trails, including routes that lead to waterfalls and glacier viewpoints. The most popular trail leads you to Svartifoss Waterfall. The waterfall is one of the most iconic natural wonders of Iceland due to its unique black basalt columns surrounding the waterfall.
