Spend your first full day discovering Reykjavík’s vibrant streets, iconic landmarks like Hallgrímskirkja Church and Harpa Concert Hall, and enjoying the city at your leisure. For those seeking more adventure, we offer an optional tour to the relaxing Blue Lagoon — a world-famous geothermal spa known for its warm, mineral-rich waters and otherworldly setting. After a day of discovering, a night of Northern Lights hunting awaits.
On the third day, continue exploring Reykjavík or opt for a full day exploring the sights of the Golden Circle: Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall and Geysir Geothermal area. Whether you revisit a favorite spot in the city, explore new corners, or embark on a second optional adventure, the day is yours to enjoy. If the Northern Lights didn’t make an appearance the previous night, you’ll have another chance to venture out in search of this natural phenomenon.
On the final day, it’s time to say goodbye to Reykjavík, taking with you unforgettable memories of your time in Iceland and the magical experiences you’ve had.

Our Northern Lights Adventure in Iceland begins as you arrive at Keflavík International Airport, set on the edge of the Reykjanes Peninsula. From here, you make your way through quiet, volcanic terrain into the city. An optional private transfer can be arranged during booking.
You'll have plenty of time to settle into your pre-arranged hotel before heading out to explore Reykjavík. Downtown offers a variety of sights within walking distance including Hallgrímskirkja Church and Harpa Concert Hall and nice walks along Laugavegur Shopping Street, the scenic Old Harbor, and Austurvöllur Square.

If you’re eager to explore further, we offer an optional Golden Circle tour for those looking to see more of Iceland’s natural beauty. This classic day trip showcases three of the country’s most iconic sights: Þingvellir National Park, the erupting Strokkur geyser at Geysir, and the breathtaking Gullfoss waterfall.
And for those still dreaming of seeing the Northern Lights, don’t worry! If the auroras didn’t appear the night before, you’ll have another chance this evening. Join us once again as we venture into the dark countryside, where the breathtaking spectacle of the dancing lights might reveal itself.

Yes, we’re happy to inform you that breakfast is indeed included. A plentiful breakfast buffet with fresh options ranging from fruits and vegetables to pastries and coffee.
We always aim to give our guests the best possible experience. If no lights are seen on the first tour you'll have a second try the day after.
While these tours only operate when forecasts are promising, if no aurora is seen on either day, your ticket is valid for two years, allowing you to rebook for another date. Simply contact us and we’ll help you book a retry.
Please keep in mind that refunds are not issued when a tour takes place but no Northern Lights are seen.
We monitor all aurora activity with the best possible equipment and only operate this tour when there’s a good chance of success. If we are certain that there’s no chance to see the Northern Lights we will cancel the tour. You’ll receive an email with easy instructions to rebook or receive a refund if you’re not able to join us on another day.
The Northern Lights are difficult to predict with certainty but given the right conditions you can be sure that we’ll head out and the tour goes ahead as planned. For those interested you can follow the Aurora Forecast at the Icelandic Meteorological Office website.
As much as we would like to, we can’t guarantee a Northern Light show-up. However, we do venture out to remote locations away from light pollution to increase the chances of spotting the phenomenal lights. Most often remote areas in and around Reykjanes Peninsula or Þingvellir National Park.
What's more, we only head out on tours if the northern light forecast is promising as we're happy when our travelers are happy.
Dressing warm is the number one rule. More layers don’t always mean more warmth, that’s why we recommend thermal underwear, layered with fleece or down and then a wind- and/or waterproof outer layer like snow pants and a jacket. Don’t forget warm socks and mittens, good shoes, a hat and throw on a scarf just to be safe.
Please keep in mind that Northern Light Tours are operated in late winter evenings when temperature can drop well below 0°C (32°F).
Yes, there is a trained and certified English speaking guide on each one of our tours, ready to make your day.
The only exceptions are Blue Lagoon transfer tour, our Self-Drive tours, and Private tours unless a private guide has been requested at an additional charge.
Yes it can, however in most cases it won’t. As your safety is our number one priority, Snæland Travel reserves the right to adjust the itinerary and/or take different routes depending on weather and road conditions. Please read more on this under Terms and Conditions.
All our hotel partners are of the same standard, 3-4 star hotels with breakfast included, to guarantee a comfortable stay. The standard rooms on multi-day tours are Double/Twin Rooms with made up beds, towels, and private bathrooms. If you are traveling solo you can simply choose a single room during the booking process.
All hotels have complimentary Wifi and access to amenities including hairdryers and tea kettles.
First things first, have your correct email and phone number listed with us upon booking your tour so we can contact you if we run into any trouble finding you.
Pickup usually starts 30 minutes before the tour departure time. The exact information is provided in your booking. Please be ready at your pickup stop from the start of the pickup time indicated to avoid any delays, as you might be the first pickup of the day.
In the case of any unforeseen events you can always give us a call +(354) 588 8660 (or the contact number provided in your email).
Due to traffic restrictions in the city center, your pickup location may not be directly in front of your hotel or accommodation but rather the closest bus stop.
It’s important that you provide the complete address of your accommodation when booking your tour and our convenient system will provide you with the closest pick-up location if direct pickup is not possible at your accommodation.
A good example is Hótel Óðinsvé where you’ll be guided to Bus Stop 8 at Hallgrímskirkja. To make it easy to find we’ve put together locations of all city center bus stops.
All our vehicles are easily recognizable, displaying the distinctive Snæland Travel logo and a sign in the window with the tour name.
