Hotel Katla is situated 5 km east of Vík i Mýrdal in the south of Iceland.

This countryside hotel offers spacious guest rooms in the beautiful surroundings of mountains, black sand beach and the Myrdalsjokull Glacier. Guests have free access an outdoor geothermal hot tub, great for relaxation. Hotel Katla offers 103 comfortable rooms,  Standard, Superior and Suites.

Standard rooms

Standard rooms are 15m2 – 22m2 and include TV, Free WiFi internet, bathroom with shower and hairdryer. Standard rooms are available for 2 to 3 adults. Guests have access to a outdoor Geothermal Hot tub and Sauna. Guests can also do a little workout at the Gym located by the Hot-tub.

The Restaurant

The hotel has a restaurant with great view. The hosts at Hotel Katla take great pride in their reputation for good service, excellent food, and the warm atmosphere of their dining lounge. The main focus is on offering products from the local area.

Wellness area

To make your stay more pleasant our hotel also features a cosy out door hot tub filled with geothermal 38° natural water. Next to the hot-tub is a Sauna, open daily from 17 to 23.

Guests can relax and enjoy after exploring the south coast of Iceland. Drinks are served from the bar to the hot tub. If you want to do a little work-out, ask for the Gym-key at reception.
