A private tour is ideal for families or groups of friends who simply are looking to have a great time together. Skip the part where you need to wait for a pick up and switch busses and jump right into the adventure with your own driver and vehicle. A luxury which if you are a bigger group is not even more expensive than joining a scheduled tour.
Your own driver will pick you up at 9 am before we leave the city of Reykjavik and descend Heillisheiði plateau. After crossing the city of Hveragerði with its greenhouses we´ll take you along the south coast of Iceland, one of the country´s most scenic region. We will take you as far as Vík, a charming village surrounded by high beautiful bird cliffs.
Along the way we stop at the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall where you can walk behind the waterfall itself and through to the other side.
We'll also stop at the majestic and much-photographed Skógafoss waterfall, with its impressive 60 m drop (196 ft). The waterfall has a huge flow of water which on sunny days allows us to see a rainbow or even a double rainbow in front of it.
Since it is a private tour we can also skip the town of Vik and instead add a glacier walk or a snowmobile tour for an additional fee, simply contact us if you want to add these.
Also you can consider visiting the lava tunnel. For all these services please contact us for prices.
En route all day long - stunning views of glaciers, black sand coastline and impressive rock formations. You are back in Reykjavik around 19:00 so you can have dinner back in town.
For bigger vehicles or groups please contact us.
Be aware the tour is bookable until 5 days prior to departure so we have time to arrange your tour. If you want a tour with shorter notice please message us and we will check the availability.
Tip: Remember to dress warmly.

This waterfall in South Iceland is one of the biggest waterfall in Iceland, measuring 25 meters wide and approximately 60 meters deep. With so much water flowing down, you will usually be able to see a single or even a double rainbow in front of Skógafoss on sunny days. If you have enough time you can take the stairs to the top of the waterfall and enjoy a great view. The river Skógá ('forrest river') plunges down the former coastline. At the bottom you will find the village Skógar with a popular museum that exhibits Iceland's past.
Near Vik you will experience the black beach Reynisfjara. Please be careful when wandering on the beach since the currents can be strong due to the fact that it is the open ocean. By the beach you find the restaurant "black beach" which since it opened a few years ago has become increasingly popular.
The river Seljalandsá which originates in the famous Eyjafjallajökull glacier plunges down about 60 meters. What makes this waterfall really special, however, is that you are able to walk behind it. Just remember to bring good shoes and a waterproof jacket, you might get wet! The ground behind the waterfall is not paved and uneven so please always be careful.
