Keflavík International Airport (KEF)

Keflavík International Airport (KEF) is also known as Reykjavík - Keflavík Airport and is the main hub for international air traffic to Iceland. There are no trains in Iceland and transport between Keflavík International Airport and Reykjavik is by road only. Driving time between the airport and Reykjavik is about 45 min and the distance is about 50 km (31 miles).

The fastest and easiest way between Keflavík Airport and Reykjavík.

Avoid waiting time at the airport or extra taxi cost from the bus stop to your accommodation. Upon arrival at the airport you will be greeted by your driver with a sign showing your name. The driver will assist you with loading the luggage in to the vehicle and drive you directly to your destination.

The Driving time to Keflavik Airport is about 45 minutes from Reykjavik. Passengers are usually advised to be at the airport at least 2 hours before departure. This is why pick-up time from Reykjavik should be 3 hours before departure of your flight.  If you add the two hour stop at the blue lagoon upon departure pick up should be 5 hours before departure.

Please note: The city of Reykjavik has introduced a new pick up/drop of system for hotels in
the city center. All tour buses have restricted access to some areas. This may affect you if you are 6 or more travelling together. Have a look at our Bus Stop page for more information.

All prices are per vehicle. Please ask for our quote for bigger groups and destinations outside Reykjavik area or private excursions and tours at sales@snaeland.is

Informative, Enjoyable and Reliable

As we had a group of 12 and had private tours as part of our holiday package, we were taken round in a mini bus. Bjorn, our guide and driver, was always on time and couldn't be more informative/helpful - we couldn't believe the knowledge he had. The Golden Circle Tour packs much of what the area has to offer in to a day. The Reykjanes peninsula was also an interesting tour from a geographical perspective. The transfers we had with the company to and from the airport were hassle free also. All in all we had a great experience with the company and I would recommend the private golden circle tour.

The golden circle; tectonic plates, waterfall, geyser, lakes.

We hired a private minibus to take us to the wonderful national park and all the sights within reach of Reykjavik and some extra bread making and tomato-growing lunch spot at Fridheumar

Ziggy, our driver was fun, humorous, chatty, knowledgeable and a delight to spend the day with.
He even managed to stave away the rain at each stop, with it pelting down in between ( I think that was more down to knowing what to go to and when)

Highly recommend !

Stunning Scenery and knowledgeable guide!

We were promptly met by our guide, Vidir Kristjansson, at the cruise terminal. The stunning scenery is non-stop. Vidir was knowledgable and quite eager to share his country with us. Walking through the towering cliffs of Thingvellir National Park was awesome. Having never seen a geyser before, Geysir Hot Springs put on quite a demonstration. And, the blue hue of Little Geysir was captivating. The major attraction of our trip was the magnificent Gullfoss, and it did not disappoint. I can understand why people risk their life to get the perfect picture. Our tour continued to Faxi waterfall and the geothermal overs at Laugavata Fontana. Our visit to the geothermal ovens coincided with a loaf of baked bread being dug up from it's steamy oven.

We had a fabulous day with Vidir. One of our traveling companions was suffering from a nasty cold. Vidir took the time to make sure she was comfortable throughout the day and allowed her to stay in the van when she didn't feel well enough to walk from the parking lots.

Brilliant day at the Golden Circle

We would like to say a huge thank you to our guide Aron for an excellent day seeing geysirs, tectonic plates and waterfalls. He was so knowledgeable and we really learned a lot even with a geology background. He was friendly and accommodating and we really couldn’t have had a better day - would highly recommend.
