The pool temperatures at Breiðholtslaug are thoughtfully adjusted to offer the perfect geothermal experience. The main pool is kept at a comfortable 28°C (82°F), ideal for lap swimming and general enjoyment, while the children’s wading pool is slightly warmer, around 32°C (90°F).

In the hot tubs, guests can enjoy a range of temperatures from 38-44°C (100-111°F), allowing you to find your ideal level of warmth and unwind at your own pace. For the adventurous, the cold plunge, chilled to a brisk 6°C (43°F), provides a refreshing contrast—a tradition beloved by locals for its energizing and rejuvenating benefits.

Designed with Inclusivity & Accessibility in Mind

Breiðholtslaug is notable for its dedication to accessibility, ensuring a comfortable experience for all visitors. The complex features a wheelchair-accessible pool, steam room, and a lift for easy entry. It's also worth noting that there is a dedicated “P” parking spot and guests have to walk about 16–20 meters to the entrance. The pavement however from the parking area is heated and the front door opens automatically, and there are no thresholds in the way.

Additionally, private changing rooms offer an inclusive space designed to welcome transgender individuals, non-binary visitors, intersex guests, families who require extra privacy, and people with disabilities with a helper of a different sex. Each private space is fully equipped with a shower with a seat, toilet with supporting rails, and additional supports, enhancing comfort and privacy for all who visit.

Breiðholtslaug is located in the Breiðholt neighbourhood about 15-20 minute drive from Reykjavík city center. It's a great location for travelers who enjoy leaving the more touristy locations behind and experiencing more of local culture. 

Although it’s a short distance from the heart of Reykjavík, Breiðholtslaug remains conveniently accessible both via car and the Reykjavík bus system, Strætó.
