Enjoy a Sky Lagoon day tour with pickup and drop-off within Reykjavík. Sky Lagoon is a luxurious geothermal spa located on the outskirts of Reykjavik, offering a unique and rejuvenating experience that combines traditional Icelandic bathing culture with modern wellness amenities. Opened in 2021, Sky Lagoon features a stunning infinity-edge lagoon that appears to merge seamlessly with the North Atlantic Ocean, providing breathtaking views of the ocean and the surrounding rugged coastline. The warm, mineral-rich waters are sourced from geothermal energy, creating a soothing environment perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation.

7 Step Bathing Ritual

One of the highlights of Sky Lagoon is the seven-step "Ritual," inspired by Icelandic bathing traditions. This experience includes a series of treatments designed to cleanse, exfoliate, and invigorate the body, starting with a dip in the warm lagoon, followed by a cold plunge, sauna, and steam bath, and ending with a relaxing soak in the lagoon. The spa’s design is inspired by Icelandic nature, featuring turf houses, lava rock formations, and natural wood elements that create an authentic and serene atmosphere.

The lagoon is perfect to unwind after a day of exploring Reykjavik or if you're seeking a luxurious spa experience in a stunning setting.

The tour departs daily at the following times:

Tour at 12:00 - Pickup starts: 11:30

Tour at 14:00 - Pickup starts: 13:30

Tour at 16:00 - Pickup starts: 15:30

Tour at 18:00 - Pickup starts: 17:30

Itinerary

Your Sky Lagoon experience begins with a hotel pickup in Reykjavík, scheduled 30 minutes before your selected departure time. Please note that due to city center traffic restrictions, pickup may not be directly at your hotel’s entrance. If that's the case, our booking system will automatically assign the nearest designated pickup point for your convenience.

All our vehicles are clearly marked with the Snæland Travel logo and display a sign with the tour name in the window for easy identification.

The bus then departs the city center and heads to Sky Lagoon in Kópavogur municipality.

Pickup starts 30 min before departure.

The drive to Sky Lagoon takes about 10-15 minutes.

Included in the tour fee is a Saman Entry to SkyLagoon. The admission includes

The Sky Lagoon offers a uniquely Icelandic spa experience, blending geothermal relaxation with stunning ocean views. Beyond the main lagoon, Sky Lagoon features a full seven-step ritual designed to enhance wellness and relaxation. This includes a cold plunge pool, a turf-house sauna with panoramic views, a refreshing cold fog mist, and a body scrub inspired by traditional Icelandic bathing culture.

You'll also have access to a steam room and a rainwater shower designed to invigorate the senses. Floating in the warm waters with endless views of the Atlantic horizon, you'll experience a blend of modern luxury and timeless Icelandic tradition before heading back to the city.

After enjoying ocean views at the ritualistic Sky Lagoon it's time to return back to Reykjavík.

You'll meet your driver outside the lagoon and enjoy a laid back ride back to the city, enjoying suburban city views.

Your driver returns you to your chosen drop-off location.

Bathing Suit
Extra Towel - A towel is included in the Saman Entry however you can bring an extra one if you prefer using your own.
Robe and slippers - Although not required you are welcome to bring your own.
Phone/Camera - You can bring a phone and/or camera into the lagoon so make sure they are fully charged and don't forget a waterproof case.
Food and Drinks - Bringing some snacks to enjoy after your visit is always a good idea although the lagoon also has great restaurants: Smakk Bar, Gelmir Bar and Keimur Cafe for snacks and refreshments.

Minimum age for entering the lagoon is 12 years old.
Visitors ages 12-14 must be accompanied by a guardian, 18 years or older.
Upgrade to Sér Entry to enjoy private showers and private changing rooms.
Secure lockers for your clothing and valuables are provided in changing rooms.
To make purchases in the lagoon easy you can use your locker wristband that will be connected to your preferred bank card.

As this is a scheduled tour it's not possible to add more stops to discover around Reykjavík.

Where will I be picked up in the city center?

Due to traffic restrictions in the city center, your pickup location may not be directly in front of your hotel or accommodation but rather the closest bus stop.

It’s important that you provide the complete address of your accommodation when booking your tour and our convenient system will provide you with the closest pick-up location if direct pickup is not possible at your accommodation.

A good example is Hótel Óðinsvé where you’ll be guided to Bus Stop 8 at Hallgrímskirkja. To make it easy to find we’ve put together locations of all city center bus stops.

All our vehicles are easily recognizable, displaying the distinctive Snæland Travel logo and a sign in the window with the tour name.

How do I prepare for a pickup with Travel Reykjavík by Snæland Travel?

First things first, have your correct email and phone number listed with us upon booking your tour so we can contact you if we run into any trouble finding you.

Pickup usually starts 30 minutes before the tour departure time. The exact information is provided in your booking. Please be ready at your pickup stop from the start of the pickup time indicated to avoid any delays, as you might be the first pickup of the day.

Are there any age restrictions for Sky Lagoon?

The Sky Lagoon does have the following age restrictions:

Minimum age for entering the lagoon is 12 years old.
Visitors ages 12-14 must be accompanied by a guardian, 18 years or older.

Are there any family friendly tours available for younger children?

Yes, Snæland Travel offers a number of family-friendly tours and activities. The Golden Circle Day Tour is a wonderful family experience where you see the must visit Gullfoss waterfall, the all age favorite Strokkur geyser, and stroll around Þingvellir National Park (the kids will love Peningagjá).

The Reykjavík City Tour & FlyOver Iceland Experience is also a great tour for those who want to stay in town and discover the city. There are no age restrictions however the Flyover Iceland Experience has a height requirement of 1m (ca. 3ft). Whale watching tours with our partner company Elding are also a time tested favorite for families with young children.

Another option could be one of our Stopover Packages that consist of multiple day tours so that you can rest easy in the same spot every night in Reykjavík, while also experiencing outer city adventures during the day.

Now, if you are travelling with an infant or small children you might feel more comfortable on one of our Private Driver tours so that you can easily adjust your schedule and enjoy a more relaxing time with your family.

Yes, there is a trained and certified English speaking guide on each one of our tours, ready to make your day.

The only exceptions are Blue Lagoon and Sky Lagoon transfer tours, our Self-Drive tours, and Private tours unless a private guide has been requested at an additional charge.
